Berry Punch, serves as a documentation of the project. It includes research, experimentation, sketches, and a full type specimen, showcasing the complete design process and inspiration. Berry Punch is a six-layered, colored typeface inspired by the patterns, structures, and textures of berries. Initially sparked by a curiosity about the boundaries of grids in type systems, this project seeks to innovate within type design by pushing the limits of traditional type systems and exploring unconventional sources of inspiration. Five of the layers are directly influenced by various berries, while the final layer, Berry Punch, combines all five into a final form. The typeface offers three distinct color palettes—six sets in total—each capturing a different mood tied to berries and the seasons.
